Broadhurst joins NewBridge Bank as Executive Vice President

Greensboro, N.C. – Spence H. Broadhurst has joined NewBridge Bank as Executive Vice President and Special Projects Manager. He is based at the Bank’s corporate headquarters in Greensboro at 1501 Highwoods Blvd.
In his role as Special Projects Manager, Broadhurst will report to William W. Budd, Jr., Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer. Broadhurst will spearhead selected correspondent banking activities including but not limited to loan syndications and participations. He will also manage special asset resolution and disposition.
Broadhurst joins NewBridge Bank as a highly qualified banking professional with 29 years of experience at SunTrust and its legacy banks. He has held local and regional leadership positions throughout the state including Market President roles in Wake Forest, Salisbury, Wilmington, and Greensboro; President of the Triad Region; and most recently, Commercial Real Estate Line of Business Manager for North and South Carolina.
Broadhurst is also an accomplished leader having served as Mayor of Wilmington from 2003 to 2006. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Piedmont Triad Partnership and the Greensboro Partnership.

Born in Wilson and a lifelong resident of North Carolina, Broadhurst attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he earned his bachelor’s degrees in industrial relations and economics. He also attended the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge. Broadhurst lives in Greensboro and is married with three children. He and his family attend First Presbyterian Church.
